Our Firm
We don’t mean to be nosy, but we want to get into your business. At PILLAR3, we have a thing for helping small businesses and entrepreneurs, and pretty much anyone that wears a backpack full of dreams. We believe in strong accounting foundations, connected to smooth processes and scalable systems that come together to offer insight into the pulse of a business. We partner with our clients to help structure and manage those details so they can focus on what they do best.

Jan Cupp Bookkeeper
Jan holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Auburn University. She has used her degree in various office positions throughout the country. Throughout her career she has worked in many different areas including the retail, service and the non-profit industries. She recently relocated to Birmingham, Alabama from Warner Robins, Georgia, where she was the district coordinator for Sherwin Williams Georgia South District. She has put her bookkeeping skills to use at PILLAR3 working in A/R, A/P, and managing reconciliations for many business clients. Jan enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren and playing tennis.

Rebecca Baker CPA, Senior Tax Accountant
Rebecca graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a
Master’s degree in Tax. She began her career in public accounting with an international accounting firm in tax compliance, ending her time there with a specialization in state and local tax. Rebecca then joined the accounting department for an international construction company. She joined Pillar3 in early 2022 to support small businesses by assisting with all their tax needs as well as providing accounting solutions to help their businesses grow. Rebecca loves spending time with her husband and daughter, playing tennis, and trying all the amazing restaurants in Birmingham. -
Stephen Reynolds Staff Accountant
Stephen graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and was
a member of the golf team. He received his Master’s in Accounting at Vanderbilt while also working as a
caddy at the Golf Club of Tennessee. He began his career in accounting at KPMG in the audit practice
working on a combination of public clients and privately held businesses. He joined Pillar3 in 2022 to
work closely with small business owners to help them achieve their accounting and financial goals.
Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife Charlotte, playing golf, and deer hunting. -
Andy Parker CPA, CGMA, Partner
Andy holds accounting degrees from Furman University and Belmont University (Masters). He has worked in public accounting at a Charleston, SC firm specializing in small business services and in the tax group of a Birmingham, AL multi-family office serving high net-worth families and their businesses. He founded PILLAR3 to focus on managerial accounting and taxation of small business entities. In addition to his business experience, Andy has spent several seasons as a fly fishing guide in Wyoming, Alaska, and Florida. He still enjoys spending time on the water and, when not at the office, can likely be found somewhere along the FL Panhandle or Gulf Coast.

Walter Whatley CPA, Manager
Walter graduated from Auburn University with both a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy degree. He began his career with Ernst & Young in Atlanta, Georgia, in its tax practice. Prior to joining PILLAR3 in 2022, Walter served as the Finance Manager for the Bahamas division of Samaritan’s Purse, a large international disaster relief agency based in North Carolina. During his tenure there, he also traveled throughout the world to assist with training and implementation of accounting systems. Walter joined PILLAR3 to work closely with business owners to efficiently meet their financial needs. Walter enjoys time outside, preferably in the water, and traveling for the next adventure.

David Boyd CPA, Partner
David graduated from The University of Alabama with both a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Accounting degree. He began his career with Ernst & Young auditing large publicly traded companies as well as privately held businesses. David then joined a publicly traded energy company performing SEC reporting before becoming the Corporate Accounting Manager. David joined PILLAR3 to use his experience to support small businesses and have a direct impact in helping them achieve their goals. David rarely turns down an opportunity to play golf and enjoys hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors.

Cassidy Nall CPA, Senior Accountant
Cassidy graduated from Troy University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting. After college, she began her career in public accounting as a tax accountant at a regional firm, preparing a wide array of individual and business tax returns within a variety of industries. She joined Pillar3 in 2020 and values both the opportunity to work closely with a variety of clients and the diversity of tasks that small business financial accounting has to offer. Cassidy rarely turns down the opportunity to visit a coffee shop and enjoys having her toes in the sand at the beach and spending time with her family and Beanie, her Beagle.

Michelle Isbell CISA, Manager
Michelle graduated from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor. She has worked in various industries during her career, including corporate accounting, internal audit (financial and information systems), and as a consultant for financial systems implementations. Prior to joining Pillar3, she was the Internal Audit Manager at a publicly traded insurance company in Birmingham. Michelle joined Pillar3 because she realized what she loved most was helping clients reach their goals and improve processes. Michelle is a regular at Pure Barre and enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys (which usually involves some sort of sporting event).

Stephen Pearlstein CPA, Manager
Stephen graduated from Auburn University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting. He began his career in public accounting with an international accounting firm in tax compliance, then later as an Audit Supervisor at a regional firm. Stephen has experience serving clients in various industries including commercial real estate, manufacturing and distribution, construction, and software. He joined PILLAR3 in 2020 to help provide finance, accounting, and managerial solutions to small business owners. Stephen loves being outside on a golf course, in the yard, and watching Auburn football. Stephen lives in Birmingham with his wife and 2 kids.
